The Dark Hedges

Placed in the 1700s by the Stuart family, the opposite series of beech plants were intended to create an amazing, picturesque street prior to their estate, Gracehill House. However as the plants grew up they started to fold over the street and their higher divisions intermingled creating a shadowy arboreal canal. The curved trunks and gnarled divisions give the street an element of the paranormal, which has arrived the Irish thoroughfare a number of qualifications positions in both films and tv programs such as Game of Thrones. The Dark Bushes have even developed their own phantom tale of a "Grey Lady" who drifts along behind the series, and vanishes just as the road finishes.
